Dear CHAMP staff,

We wanted to send you a note to thank you for inviting us to participate in the Ontario CHAMP Seminar last weekend. Gavin really enjoyed meeting up with and playing with the other Champs, and it was really neat for us to visit with families that we’ve met through the years through the CHAMP Program.

We found the sessions interesting and very appropriate for many of the things that Gavin is going through in his life right now. We especially appreciated the handout that was right in our registration kit about modifications for bicycles for arm amputees!

Our proudest moment of the seminar came on Saturday afternoon during a session on new developments for arm amputees when Gavin rushed up onto the stage to show everyone his myo and to demonstrate how to open and close it.  This was a very special moment for us because, in general, Gavin shies away from that kind of attention to his “special arm.”  It was very touching for us, his parents, to see how comfortable Gavin was showing off his special tool to the other Champs. Thank you for creating that kind of warm, friendly, positive and comfortable atmosphere for the Champs.
